چکیده

This paper presents a new interpretation of the binary blending operator of implicit modeling. Instead of considering the operator as a composition of potential functions, we propose to consider it as an implicit curve extruded in an implicit extrusion field. An implicit extrusion field is a 2D space for which each coordinate is a potential field. The study of general concepts around implicit extrusion fields allows us to introduce the theoretical notion of freeform blending controlled point-by-point by the user. Through the use of functional interpolation functions, we propose modeling tools to create, sculpt or combine implicit primitives by extrusion of a profile in an implicit extrusion field.

Extrusion of 1D Implicit Profiles: Theory and First Application

This paper presents a new interpretation of the general definition of the binary blending operator of implicit modeling. Instead of considering the operator as a composition of potential functions or as a function defined in the combined primitives metric, we propose to consider it as an implicit curve extruded in an implicit extrusion field. An implicit extrusion field is a 2D space for which ...

Implicit Extrusion Fields

This paper presents an implicit function fields based approach for the extrusion of 2-dimensional profiles. According to the fields used, the extrusion follows an implicit object shape or performs the transition between combined primitives. The 1-dimensional polynomial spline properties allow the point-by-point control of the profile. Used on the transition of combined primitives, free form fun...

Comments on Nonfinite Adverbial Patterns in English Prose Fiction: A Simple Model for Analysis and Use

This study aims to present an accessible model of some frequent nonfinite adverbial types occurring in English prose fiction. As its main syntactic argument, it recognizes that these adverbials are mostly elliptical in that there are some dependent-clause markers one can assume to be implicit when supplying those elements back into the clause complex. Some comments are provided at the end on th...

A review of agent-based modeling (ABM) concepts and some of its main applications in management science

We live in a very complex world where we face complex phenomena such as social norms and new technologies. To deal with such phenomena, social scientists often use reductionism approach where they reduce them to some lower-lever variables and model the relationships among them through a scheme of equations. This approach that is called equation based modeling (EBM) has some basic weaknesses in ...

EPISTEMOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS IN THE CONCEPT OF “EAST” AND “WEST” (WITH REFERENCE TO PRINCIPLES THAT FORM CULTURE)

Do the words “East” and “West” mean more than just geographical orientations or areas? This seems to be a simple question, which cannot be answered easily. The difficulty in answering such a question seems to be rooted in questions that deal with universal concepts. Defining such universal concepts, which seems quite simple, is very difficult indeed - perhaps even impossible in some cases. “E...
